Dear Parents,

We have come to the end of another fun filled term and I must say that the library was very busy.

It was great to see students come into the library at recess and lunchtimes and utilise the library in a great way. The students had the opportunity to use school laptops/Ipads, either to catch –up on work such as Mathletics or Reading Eggs but mainly for researching on the internet, for relevant information regarding their projects, which is a fantastic way to learn.

I am also happy in regards to the number of students who I have come across that borrow non-fiction books and reference books, to gather information. Rather than using the internet as a shortcut to research relevant topics for their projects, it was great seeing books being used and students asking me to locate some books regarding specific topics.

We have also had some great readers throughout the term who have regularly used the library and developed consistency in their borrowing skills e.g. looking for suitable books that are age appropriate, related to class projects and meeting their interest levels.

Lastly, I would like to remind students to return any overdue books that they might have at home.

Hope to see all the students back in Term 3, ready and refreshed.
